Current Obsession: Pinhole Press

Hi friend!  I just finished my sister's wedding invitations and feel like I can come up for air again! Christmas cards are on my mind now  (though I've yet to take any photos to fill said greeting cards).  I am currently obsessed with Pinhole Press.  They are an online boutique offering many pretty personalized gifts from Christmas cards to photo books to personalized stationary- all customizable and all with a clean simple look that is oh so eye-catching.  I love their designs because they allow your photos to take center stage. The patterned envelopes they sell with their Christmas cards are about the merriest thing a person could hope to pull out of their mail box.

Here are a few fast favorites from their site.

Americana Clothing for Girls

I know, I know, some kids aren't even finished with school yet and here I am talking about the 4th of July. But if you want your little ones to don red white and blue on Independence Day, now is the time to shop.  I admit, I am a sucker for stars and stripes on my kids and I am very proud of my forefathers for choosing such a great color palette with which we can show our allegiance. There are so many patriotic options for children to wear this summer, so many that I am just showing you my favorites for girls.  The boys' Americana clothing deserves it's own post.

Here are some of my favorites for the girlies

Sleevless Onesies

Did you think this was going to be a tutorial?  Sorry.  I did try once to make sleeveless onesies by cutting the sleeves off my daughter's onesies...and then never got around to hemming them- very Joe Dirt. This is approach is much quicker and cuter.  It's called shopping.

Is it just me, or are sleeveless onesies hard to find?  We've been on the lookout for them for my little niece and my son to go under summer dresses and rompers.  I finally found them so I thought I would share.

Last-Minute Mothers' Day Ideas

Technically it's not the last minute.  It's not even close, but time is short to get something for the wonderful moms in your life.  Here are a few things I've spotted lately.

These sweet little monogrammed mugs from Anthropologie are so pretty and less than $10 each!

For the mom who is always entertaining, I love these cute little dessert makers.  I've seen them at Macy's and JC Penney, but how do you decide between the cake pop maker and the whoopie pie maker?  You simply buy both, I suppose.  There a few other varieties here.

You can get one floppy straw hat for your mum, one for you, you both feel like Princess Kate, everyone wins.

How on earth will you decide which tote to buy for Mom with these fun options from Christopher & Banks?  For only $25, I would use this tote as the gift bag and fill it full of summertime goodies....who am I kidding, I would also buy one for myself.

This delicious apron is from Anthropologie and delightfully priced too.  I am half tempted sew a back on this one and wear it as a dress- so pretty!

.

I am actually borrowing this idea from my own mother.  For Christmas, she wrapped up our gifts and tied them with cool scarves instead of bows or ribbon-BONUS!  This pretty frayed coral one form Christopher & Banks would make the package and her outfit pop.

Gift cards might seem impersonal, but in my opinion, you are giving the gift of shopping, and if you wrap it up very nicely with a pair of pretty earrings dangling from the package, it gives it just the right personal touch.  These pretty options are all from Coldwater Creek and all 25% off right now!

The Next Best Thing for Summer

I was thrilled to see the Spring/Summer clothing line from Next Direct, it made me believe that Summer  is more than just a myth.

Have you ever purchased from Next? I bought this jacket and these shorts for my baby boy a few months ago and I have been impressed with the quality.  My order arrived very fast, within 48 hours.  My only complaint is that the jacket, a size 12-18 months, was really big on my baby.  He wears this size in many other brands ( he is a BIG 10-month-old) so I was surprised how big the jacket was (hoping he will grow into it for Fall).  The shorts fits great.  I will definitely purchase from them again.

I have yet to try their women's or men's clothing lines. Has anyone else?  Here are a few Next items on my radar for Summer...and when I say "a few," I mean one hundred.

Cheap Sunglasses

Shopping for sunglasses is my subtle way of protesting against the snow that is currently falling outside my window. I never ever ever ever buy expensive sunglasses because I always, always, always loose or destroy them. They may meet their fate by being sat on, washed out to sea or irrevocably covered in SPF film. A life-span of three months is all I require to see my purchase as a success and look forward to the new, cheap and trendy options for the next year.

So here are the cheap sunglasses on my radar this season:

The floral trend is my very favorite.

I love these from Fred Flare,

But if you don't want to wait for them, you can have instant gratification for less than six bucks with these from Charlotte Russe.

And I like the ever-popular tortoise shell from Forever 21

Here is a new twist on animal print and I love the square shape, from Charlotte Russe

These taupe and gold enamel glasses are fun and a little unique, also Forever 21

And I love the shape of these classic black ones

When in Roam

Does clothing ever speak to you? I just saw Shabby Apple's new Roamin' Holiday line and I am giddy over this dress. If the Gondola dress could talk it would say, "I belong in Tatum's closet. I belong in Tatum's closet."

Also, I require the little red Vespa. Isn't it cute? Do you think I could strap a couple of car seats to it? No?

Hapari swimwear sale

{hooray for a cute one-piece! so hard to find!}

I have never tried Hapari swimwear, but I've been tempted for a while now . I love that any of their styles are available in any of their fun prints. Plus their tops can be worn with straps straight, crossed or halter style, so you can really customize your suit to get what you want and what fits you best.

I saw them today on a local show, Good Things Utah. They are having a two-day 20% off sale with the code "good20." Has anyone tried them?

These are some more of my favorite suits...

Putting it to a Vote: Baby Boy Jacket

For now I can't picture us in anything but our big bulky coats and hats. But soon it will be time for Spring jackets! I snagged this little number for my daughter from Old Navy.

Now, my favorite baby boy needs a sharp-looking spring jacket.

I've found three that I like.

The Drummer Boy from Next

This sweet little cardigan aslo from Next

This cool knit blazer from Baby Gap

Which do you like?

Socially Concious with Sparkle

Are there any cooler shoes on the planet than TOMS shoes? {Kudos to my ultra-hip mom, who introduced me to them when they were brand new}. Have you heard about their movement? For every pair of shoes sold, a pair is given to a child in need. And with the Pink Glitter Classics Tiny TOMS, one can spread goodwill and glitter! So cute. I know a certain girlie who could rock these!
